Sonu Nigam’s musical journey began at the age of 4, when he was exposed to the rich sounds of his family’s classical traditions. Under the guidance of his father, Agam Kumar Nigam, Sonuji quickly embraced the music and vibrant melodies of his hometown. Influenced by classical and Bollywood music, this early exposure encouraged his natural talent, building a strong musical foundation for a remarkable career and kindling a lifelong passion.
As an 18-year-old prodigy, Sonuji entered the music industry to pursue playback singing, refining his skills under Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. With the first breakthrough in Accha Sila Diya (1995), followed by a rise through Sa Re Ga Ma, Sonuji’s talent gained national recognition. This made him a household name, mixing classical precision with new appeal, thus paving the way for his legendary music career.
After attaining the pinnacle of stardom in the music industry - where he learned, evolved, and faced countless challenges - one thing remained constant for Sonu Nigam: the priceless lessons music taught him. Having lived through these invaluable experiences, he desires to give back to the next generation of musicians.
